Nec Prunus

Cultivated plants, and fruit trees in particular, whether wild, cultivated, domesticated, manipulated or named by a society or community, constitute a heritage because they form a biological and cultural whole, the result of transmissions between generations, but also between peoples.
Fruit trees, and the  Rosacae family in general, offer a way of participating in nature, by providing edible, delicate fruit and aesthetic spring blossoms that delight the mind and the eye. A contemplation, a stroll and a production in autumn of many fruits.

Based on these values, the NEC PRUNUS® brand in 2019 has been developed in the Dordogne, in the Périgord Noir region, close to Montignac-Lascaux, with the complicity of Thé des Écrivains.

A project and a reflection on fruit processing that combines an organic farming approach in Conservatory orchards offering old and protected varieties, cultural and wellness tourism & gourmet experience.

On a 6.7-hectare estate, the first stage of this adventure took place in December 2019 and December 2020, with the planting of over 500 trees of ancient and protected varieties of the Prunus family, in collaboration with the since-closed ConservatoireRégional des Arbres Fruitiers d’Aquitaine and its former director Evelyne Leterme.
